Tuna Sandwich With Onions

There’s nothing more refreshing on a hot summer day than this easy dinner recipe. No need to cook, no battling to get this hot food in whilst you are dying of heat. Simply put your tuna and other ingredients on the sandwiches, or put everything in little bowls on the table and have your family doing it themselves.

Ingredients

  • 4 whole grain rolls
  • margarine or low-fat spread
  • 1 small lettuce, washed and torn into pieces
  • 3 cans of shredded tuna in water (170 g each), drained
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Steps
  1. Cut the rolls in half and put a thin layer of margarine on.
  2. Then put a layer each of lettuce, tuna and onion on, sprinkle with salt and pepper and serve.
Tip: If you like it hot, you can simply place the rolls under the hot grill for 5 to 10 minutes until they are warm and the onions start getting golden. For this grilled version of the tuna sandwich, you can also sprinkle some grated cheese on top before you bake it.
