Fried Rice With Ham And Peas

If you're a rice lover, this one is for you! Rice and ham and a nice portion of healthy veggies, all mixed together to a fried dish.

Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 medium onion
  • 260 g lean ham
  • 270 g rice, boiled
  • 260 g peas, deep frozen
  • 4 tbsp. soy sauce
Steps
  1. Start cooking the rice. If you have the opportunity to do that the day before, even better. The rice will then be less sticky when frying. But if you just boil the rice now and it’s still warm, it will still work well.
  2. Slightly beat the eggs and season with salt and pepper. Heat a little bit of oil in a pan, add the eggs and bake like an omelet. Cut into pieces and set aside.
  3. In the meantime, chop the onion and cut the ham into thin strips.
  4. Heat a bit of oil in the pan and fry the onions on high heat until golden. Add the ham and stir-fry for another minute. Add rice and peas and stir-fry for 5 minutes until the rice is warm and the peas soft. Then add soy sauce and omelet, heat it all up and serve.
Serves 4.

Tip
You can replace the ham with any kind of meat, but the cooking process might then take a bit longer because the meat needs to be done whilst the ham just needs to warm. Preferably use chicken or turkey as it is done quickly.
